Index 00 · On-device for Mac

Every word, kept quiet.

Dettato records your meetings, writes the transcript, suggests who said what, and hands you the summary — and your audio never leaves your Mac.

01 · Listen

It knows when the call starts.

Dettato watches the audio and microphone signals already on your Mac. No calendar bot joins the room, and auto-record stays entirely optional.

02 · Capture

The meeting stays whole.

Teams, Zoom, browsers, AirPods, device changes and crashes: segmented capture keeps recording through the messy parts of real calls.

03 · Transcribe

Your silicon writes the words.

Apple Speech, WhisperKit or Parakeet turns audio into a searchable transcript on-device. Pick the engine that fits your Mac.

04 · Recognize

Familiar voices become people.

Local diarization separates speakers and voiceprints suggest recurring names. Dettato asks before it changes anything.

05 · Remember

A meeting becomes something useful.

Run a summary, pull out decisions, or turn promises into action items—using a local model or an endpoint you control.

Index 02 · Private by default

Your meetings never leave the room.

Recording, transcription, speaker identity, and AI summaries all run on your Mac's own silicon. No Dettato server ever sees your meetings — there isn't one to send them to.

01

Your call is captured

Your mic and the meeting app's audio, tapped straight from Core Audio. Survives crashes and AirPods swaps.

02

Your Mac does the work

Whisper and Parakeet on the Neural Engine, a local LLM on Metal — all of it on your Mac's own silicon.

03

Your transcript stays put

Your recordings and library live in one folder on your disk. Search it, export it, delete it. Yours.

Audio uploaded to our cloud: some none. No accounts, no analytics, no telemetry. Out of the box, the app's network activity is model downloads, a license check, and — only with your OK — update checks. Cloud engines, webhooks, and URL imports run only if you set them up. The privacy policy is short enough to actually read.

Index 03 · Selected capabilities

The essentials, done properly.

Built for people who live in calls but keep what's said to themselves.

Records on its own

Detects calls in Teams, Zoom, Webex, and browser meetings — catches the start, stops when you hang up. Or press record yourself; auto is optional.

On-device transcription

Apple Speech, Whisper, or Nvidia Parakeet on Apple Silicon. Cloud engines only if you bring your own keys.

Knows who spoke

On-device diarization separates voices; voiceprints suggest recurring people. It only suggests — you stay in charge of names.

Summaries & action items

A local LLM writes the recap and pulls action items with owners. Or point it at your own OpenAI-compatible endpoint — your key, your provider, your call.

Doesn't lose meetings

Yank your AirPods and the recording rides through it. Crash mid-call, and Dettato recovers everything on relaunch — worst case costs minutes, never the meeting.

Imports what you already have

Drop in a .vtt or .srt caption file from Teams, Zoom, or Meet — speakers and timings intact, no audio needed. Audio files transcribe on import too.

Automation-friendly

Watch folders transcribe the audio you drop in them; the dettato CLI scripts the rest.

Index 04 · Independent software

It keeps getting better.

What ships today is the core we trust: recording, transcription, speakers, summaries. Around it, Dettato improves in small, steady releases.

Updates install themselves

Auto-update is built in. New versions arrive in the app — no re-downloading, no hunting for installers.

One purchase, ongoing work

Every 1.x update — features and fixes alike — is included with Pro. No upgrade fees, no subscription meter.

A real changelog

Each release says plainly what changed and what got fixed. No “bug fixes and improvements” hand-waving. Read it →

Dettato is independent software from a very small team. That means fast, focused releases — and it also means support is by email and best-effort, not a call center. We think that's a fair trade, and we'd rather say so up front.

Index 06 · Fair questions

Asked and answered.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
Never. Recording, transcription, diarization, and summaries all run on your Mac. The only exception is if you explicitly configure an optional cloud engine with your own API key — then audio goes directly to that provider you chose, never to Dettato.
Do I need a subscription?
No. The Free tier is unlimited forever, and Pro is a single $39 payment that includes every 1.x update. There are no Dettato servers to pay for, so there's nothing to subscribe to.
Which Macs does Dettato run on?
Dettato requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later on an Apple Silicon Mac — the on-device transcription, speaker identification, and AI stack are built on the newest system frameworks and the Apple Neural Engine.
What kind of support can I expect?
Honest answer: Dettato is independent software from a very small team, and support is by email only — support@dettato.app. We read everything and bug reports get priority, but replies are best-effort and can take a few business days. There's no live chat, phone line, or enterprise SLA — that's part of how a $39 one-time price works.
When can I buy it?
Right now. The Buy button opens checkout — handled by Polar, our merchant of record — and your license key arrives by email the moment payment clears. The download is Developer ID-signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without warnings, the way a Mac app should.
What happens when I get a new Mac?
Your Pro license covers up to 3 active Macs, so most machine swaps just work — install Dettato, paste your key, done. If you've used all three activations, email support@dettato.app and we'll free one up for you.
Is it a native Mac app?
Yes — Dettato is native Swift and SwiftUI, built for Apple Silicon. No Electron, no browser wrapper. Transcription and diarization run on the Neural Engine; the local LLM runs on Metal.
What's the refund policy?
If Dettato Pro isn't for you, you get a full refund within 14 days of purchase. One email, no forms.
